Hi,
this is the status of my book I've been working on since early '99 when it started as my personal Dreamcast collecting list (if it's ever getting finished  )

what's inside:
- every single retail DC game released in pressed form on disc (GD and CD) in any region, including release date, price, online functions, etc.
- all variants of each game
- hopefully all PAL White Label releases
- all official demo discs included in magazines
- all official VMS games
- all official Mega Drive and PC Engine games playable on DPP
- info about bug fixed versions of certain games
- all official browser discs, utility discs and the likes
- all official Dreamcast consoles
- all official Sega peripheral devices for Dreamcast and certain unique third party hardware like the Densha de Go! controller
- tons of spelling errors

what's not:
- development hardware and software
- japanese and american equivalents to the PAL White Labels
- "regular demos" not included in magazines unless something very unique
- stuff that's not pressed on disc

you can see some pretty old preview footage here:
http://forum.nexgam.de/index.php?page=T ... adID=59530

Keep in mind that the stuff shown there is from around 2004 or so. A lot has been added since then and tons of wrong info has been fixed.
As you might have noticed, the book is in german

This thing could be pretty close to completion, although quite a few pictures are still missing. And I've also set my mind to have all the "homebrew" stuff like Last Hope and Sturmwind included, and since new games are getting released all the time, I'm having a pretty good excuse for not having to finish this project

Thanks for answering Ballermann

That is a very nice job you are doing, but why not include the "what's not:"?? so you make a 100% complete book?

I can help you with some dev discs & japanese demo discs scans if you would include that.... :)

About the commercial not licensed games like last hope........ I would not include them personally, or I would make an appendix talking briefly about them....

Btw I remember your nickname from the old dreamcasthistory.com forums, ah, the good all days :)

Hi Blai,
I'm sorry - i must be getting old (dang, forgot i already am for quite a while now), but i only remember your name from assemblergames.com, or have you been on dchistory under a different name, like NaOnaK or Fatalist maybe?

regarding my decisions not to include development and general demos:
Just the inclusion of all demos or japanese sample versions could fill another book - and my book is already going to be roughly 300 pages in DIN A4 format in it's current form
i would also have to be 100% sure that really every single demo and development tool is really included, and some of the best collector's books for other systems like Super Famicom or PC Engine also "only" include officially released stuff as far as i'm aware of.
Super rare development or Hibaihin stuff which sometimes eventually surfaces after more than ten years is much better suited for online databases created and maintained by truly knowledgeable guys in such matters like you or Kron, although i wouldn't mind if you could provide me with some pics and info - just out of personal curiosity though - most likely not for additional contents for the book. It's not that it doesn't already contain some in my opinion pretty rarely (if at all) talked about "not so official" stuff anyway
